Troubleshooting and resolving location discrepancies
Denco 9-1-1 uses advanced geographic information systems that go beyond traditional mapping to create a robust profile based on multiple data sources. We’re always working to enhance GIS data in support of 9-1-1 operations — quickly investigating location discrepancy information submitted by our communication centers in both the automatic location identification database and our GIS data set. This streamlined process enables fast trouble resolution and provides for timely updates of both ALI and GIS data. We’re also laying the groundwork for future phases of Next Generation 9-1-1 routing services, as well as the development of workflows for efficiency and quality assurance.
Denco 9-1-1 collaborates with all cities and Denton County to verify that our GIS data accurately reflects all jurisdictional boundaries and emergency services zones. In addition, we work closely with wireless service providers to ensure that 9-1-1 calls are routed to the appropriate emergency communications center based on the coverage area of each tower.
